I finally have some time to have a play with my art and to upload my latest art journal page. This is mostly acrylic paint and pen. I used just my fingers to create the picture and it was so much fun. I am really happy with the outcome. It is bright and reminiscent of spring time. Who says fingerpainting is just for kids? This was done in my altered book art journal. I hope you enjoy seeing it as much as I enjoyed making it. Have a great weekend, folks.

How quickly time passes.

Hello dear Friends, the time has passes so quickly and I have been hard at work studying and looking after family, keeping the house etc. I thought I should pop on here quickly and show you that I haven't stopped making art, it has just slowed down. End of an Era Mojo 500

Hi Friends, I really can't believe it. Mojo Monday has put up their last sketch ever. I only started entering my cards at the end of last year and have so enjoyed being able to join in. Julee has always done such a wonderful job with the sketches and running the competitions. A big thank you to Julee and the team for so many years of service to the papercraft community. I wish everyone all the very best with future endeavours, whatever they may be. Here is the card I made for the very last entry. It was a birthday card for a teenage girl using the Fiesta pack from Kaisercraft again. I think it turned out beautifully, especially with a little bit of glitter paper for added fun. Goodbye, Mojo Monday, you will be missed.

Hi Friends, just in the nick of time I have completed a card for this weeks mojo monday and it's competition week. This was a great sketch. Again I have used the Fiesta pack from Kaisercraft keeping it fun and bright. It could easily be a birthday card for a girl friend. Have a great weekend and hopefully I will catch up again next week. New art journal page

Hi All, hope you have had a wonderful weekend. It has been a long weekend here, so I have had some time for crafting. I wanted to see what would happen if I did an art journal page of one of my favourite artist trading cards. Here is the result. Now, since it is a pic of Ian Sommerhalder I automatically love it, but thats cheating. Also, anytime I get to use ultramarine blue, it's going to be one I really like. Throw in blue feathers and I'm sold. Mind you, I still love the atc best.

Time flies

My, my, how the time flies. I have been all but buried in my studies. I knew it would happen, but I thought I would still be able to keep on top of everything. I do have a habit of overestimating what I can achieve in a set amount of time. Oh well, soldering on. Here is a card I made for a young man's birthday. Hope you like it. Have a great week, folks.

Art Journal Page

Hi Friends, this is a record for me; 2 posts in one day. I haven't posted any pics of my art journal pages for a while, so I thought I would share this one that I finished the other day. I have some fairy themed things that I have not been able to use up in my scrapbooking etc. as I have boys and fairies just don't seem to fit. Anyway, this picture of the little fairy boy on the doorstep of the fairy girl was given to my by a German friend a few years ago and I am pleased to have used it at last. It speaks to me of a bygone era when the young gentleman would come to the front door and ask the young lady if she would do him the honour of accompanying him to the dance. Uh oh, this might be giving away my age. Oh well, you get the gist. I thought it was so sweet. I hope you enjoy it, too.

Hi Friends, it seems like this week just got away on me before I knew what was happening. Anyway, I did manage to make a card following this week's Mojo Monday sketch. It was a great sketch, but I am afraid I didn't really do it justice this time. I was in a big hurry as I needed a birthday card at very short notice for a young man's eighteenth. I hope he liked it. He is big into drama and acting and singing etc. The weekend is nearly over now, so I hope you feel refreshed and ready for the week ahead. Will catch up next time, have a great week.

Hi Friends, I have discovered that I have been doing the links to Mojo Monday incorrectly, so I am trying again with a new card. Blue again, but teamed with gold and incorporating different shapes for a completely different feel to this fun sketch. Hope your week is going well. 😊

Ideal ATC swap group

Hi Friends, hope your week is going well. Here are the ATC's I created for the Ideal ATC swap group. As you may be able to guess, the theme is shades of blue. The addition of bling was another requirement for this swap. I had so much fun making them. I hope the girls in the swap enjoy them. I think my favourite one is the little blue dragon surrounded by gems from his stash in his cave. Have a great weekend, folks.

Another Valentine

Hi Friends, here is the second card I made using last week's Mojo Monday sketch. This time I used the little hearts that came with Julee's digi stamp set, as well as the quote. I am so pleased with how it turned out. I haven't been well this week and so I feel I may not get any more cards done. However, I will soon be able to show you the ATC's I have been creating for the Ideal ATC swap group. Hope your week is going well. Will catch up again soon.

Hi Friends, it's Mojo time again and here is my entry. Julee has created a square card sketch this week and, while I don't do a lot of square cards, this one was so much fun to do and turned out so cute I think. I did rearrange the elements a little as I have been wanting to use these red heart shaped doilies I have in my stash. Again, I used the digital stamps from Verve for the quote (thanks, Julee). Looking at it now I should have used the gorgeous little hearts that came with the set. Ok, time to make another one. Hope your week is going well.

Hi Friends, hope your week went well. I am still having troubles with photos so my entry is very late. Anyway, at least I have it done and can now show you my efforts. Everyone is doing Valentines theme at the moment, so I thought I would follow suit. I love working with red. It is my favourite colour.  Many thanks to Julee from Mojo Monday and Verve stamps for her free digital stamps download. These are so much fun and the thoughts behind them are special. Woohoo, my techie son fixed the problem with the pictures and I can now upload my example of Mojo 480. It was a fun sketch and I do enjoy joining in the challenge. Thanks to the girls over at Mojo Monday for continuing the sketch challenge this year.

Hi Friends, I have completed my card for Mojo 480, but unfortunately I can't upload it at the moment for some strange reason. I am somewhat disappointed, but that's life and I'm sure I will get the problem sorted out soon. Instead, here is another recent picture from my art journal. Hi Friends, I have done another art journal page that I am particularly happy with. Its a double page spread in an altered book art journal I have just started. The photo doesn't show the pretty iridescent medium or shimmer sprays I used. In the sunlight it really is nice.

Hi Friends, another week has flown by in a blur and there is a new sketch over at Mojo Monday. It's pretty cool and I had fun with it. I'm hoping this card looks more masculine because we have so many boys in our extended family and male themed cards seem to pose more of a challenge for me. I do enjoy making them, of course, but pretty feminine ones seem so much easier. Go figure. :)

Hi Friends, the holidays are great. I love spending time with family and friends. Crafting never stops, however, so I wanted to show you my most recent art journal page. It's mixed media again and I used off cuts of wallpaper which had these amazing branches and birds and flowers. I really like this one along with the little verse. I trust you are enjoying this time.
